The kids were digging through our set of board games and came across an old chess board of mine. So one at a time, I sat down with them and taught them how to play chess. I think I left out “castling” and the “en passant” rule, but we covered all the basics. They picked up on it remarkably fast and now I’m pretty excited that they’ll be able to play such a great game with me. I’m also a little scared that they’ll get good enough to beat me way too quickly.
