Breath Of Fresh Air

Working from home has many great advantages. I’ve loved being able to work from home. To do my job, take care of our animals, and see my wife more often during the day. It’s been really nice. However, I’m really starting to feel the effects of rarely seeing anyone other than my wife and kids. Mostly, even though I see co-workers in Zoom meetings, I’m starting to feel a little lonely.

Yesterday, it hit a peak and I just felt stir-crazy. Every year around this time, I start to feel the need to get outside and begin planning my camping and hiking trips for the summer. Sometimes I even get out to snowshoe about this time. But yesterday, all of those usual feelings seemed to crescendo with the added feelings of isolation.

So I went for a walk this morning around some nearby ponds. I can’t even tell you how refreshing it felt to breathe in the cold air and let the light snow brush my face. The chatter of ducks, geese, and all sorts of other pretty little birds was just beautiful.

Sometimes, you just need to go for a walk.
