Idaho State Capital - Boise Photographer

Boise HDR

My family went downtown tonight to check out the Food Truck Rally on 4th and Grove Street. The smells were great and there was no shortage of good eats. My favorite was the pulled pork sandwich from Brown Shuga Soul Food. After stuffing ourselves a bit, we walked around town for a while admiring the buildings and I took a few pictures. I did see a few other Boise photographers out and about tonight, but most on their smart phones.

I took lots of the kids playing and such, but I also tried my hand at the HDR stuff again. I think these really turned out nice. The detail in the buildings and the saturation of the blue from the sky and the foliage colors really make these pop nicely. I went a little farther than I normally would with my processing. What do you think? Should HDR be obvious or go unnoticed?

  1. Great stuff! I think the b&w aging capital is my favorite. What lens were you using?

    1. Thanks Chad. These are just the kit lens(the 18-55mm 3.5-5.6). So far I’ve also got a 50mm 1.8 that I like very much, but for walking around town, I really do like the flexibility of a zoom.

What do you think?
